Windy, Windy, Windy

If we were in Lake Erie with the winds we are experiencing here, we would be dock locked. Thank goodness there are islands and lots of bays that keep you protected from the strong winds.
We left Killarney Tuesday just after the seaplane used the channel to take off. We headed for a very popular bay known as Covered Portage, the place was packed. We then headed to Snug Harbor, there are 2 Snug Harbor's and this one is located on Badgeley point. There were 13 boats (including us) staying overnight. The water here is clear and a beautiful turquoise blue.

On Wednesday we awoke to another day of high wind warnings, so we decided to stay put at Snug Harbor. We could see from our charts that Frazer Bay was on the other side of the mountain, so we geared up with water, bug repellant and our handheld GPS. We climbed to a high rock outcrop where we got a great view of the bay below us. As we were leaving the high vantage point I spotted the partial remains of a big whitetail deer. I can just imagine he was "king of the mountain" and when his time had come he climbed to the highest spot and bedded down for the last time. We also hiked over to Devil's Bay Lake. We wished we had kayaks to explore. We took a dinghy ride in Snug Harbor bay, again the water is so clear but so cold...60.2 degrees...needless to say, no swimming for me.
