Thursday morning we got an early start and headed to Baie Fine, pronounced "Bay Fin", and The Pool anchorage. Some people actually refer to this as a fjord as it is long and narrow and has very high sides. The trek back is approximately 9 miles long and so worth the trip! Luckily the pool area can accommodate many boats and we found a great spot to anchor. Shortly after anchoring we had a very large turtle poke his head above water. We were lucky to see him several times while in The Pool. This bay is gorgeous and we are surrounded by mountains. We hiked up to Topaz Lake, a very popular destination for all boaters that come to this area. The color of the water and the mountains was just breathtaking. There were at least 15 other people up there. A group of 5 guys were diving and jumping from the rocks. We then started on the trail to Artist Lake but ended up on the hiking trail so we turned around and decided to attempt that Friday morning. During our hike Mark spotted some moose tracks, unfortunately we didn't see the moose. While we were hiking a girl of about 5 was looking at the moss and said to her mother, "look mom, the moss is God's carpet". This is truly God's country!
