We have enjoyed our trip in Georgian Bay with the windswept islands, good weather, fantastic views and new friends. Now we find ourselves heading into the North Channel with our first stop being Killarney. The landscape on the way over was beautiful, with the pink granite close to the shore and the white granite dotting the mountains (it looked like snow). On the way into Killarney I looked behind us and there was a seaplane coming in...this is a busy channel and we had an anchored sailboat (due to a line wrapped around his props), boats, sea doo's and then a plane. We are staying at the Sportsman's Inn Resort and Marina. This marina has a big screen to show movies at night (unfortunately they did not have anything playing Monday night). It looks like most boats have a good view of the screen. We did venture into town...first we asked for a map of town and were told they didn't have one, "everything is right here on Main Street". Well, they were right- there are a couple of restaurants, an LCBO that sells beer and alcohol and a grocery store (sticker shock). We had lunch at Herbert's Fisheries, Killarney's world famous fish and chips. They serve fresh fish caught that day. After lunch we watched another fish boat come in and unload more whitefish. For dinner we met up with our friends Lola and Terry from Sunny Days for dinner at The Sportsman's.
The winds definitely have an effect on the trees.

Those trees remind me of the divi divi trees in Aruba that are windswept!
