Dinner with Knot Home, Sir Tugley Blue, Pearl,
Melinda B and Sno Daz.
The name Little Current is a misnomer, there is nothing little about the current. They have a buoy in the channel shaped like a "little boat" that tells you what direction the water is flowing and another that you watch to see how far it is leaning to gauge the current strength. There is a swing bridge that operates on the hour and from our dock at the marina we could watch the boats line up to go through just prior to the top of the hour.
On Sunday we checked out the shops in town and then met our friends from Knot Home and Sno Daz for a drink. We met a few more loopers that came into the marina. Something Special is a gold looper that completed the loop in 2012 and they are starting it all over again. We listened to VHF 71, a cruiser's net, that gives you weather and news updates. They also have a call in from the boaters. The boaters give their boat name, where they are and where they are headed to. The mornings we listened they were averaging about 140 call-ins a day.
The main street in Little Current.
The swing bridge opens at the top of the hour for
15 minutes to let the boats through.
