After spending the night of June 15th in Spencerport, NY we moved on to Fairport. Earlier in the day we had learned that due to heavy rains and flooding, the Erie and Oswego Canals were being closed because of hazards to navigation. We had hoped to be further along, but Fairport is a great Canal town and a good place to spend some time as we are now unable to get to Oswego anytime soon.
Met a bunch of friendly folks who are also tip toeing through the canal in hopes that within a few days the canal will reopen and we can move on to Lake Ontario. We found a couple of great restaurants and enjoyed a couple of days in the sunshine.
