We had a wonderful time at home for the holidays catching up with family and friends. Christmas party at the Calandras and Fays, dinner with the Bowmansville group, lunch with a couple of my UPS friends and a wonderful family Christmas dinner at Mark's sisters.
The highlight of the trip home was our daughter getting engaged! We celebrated Sunday morning over brunch downtown. We flew back to Florida on the 27th, met up with friends from Buffalo (Kleins and Whipples) for dinner on the 28th and left Legacy Harbor Marina and headed to Hake's dock in Ft. Myers Beach on the 29th. This is what we call "our vacation" as we get ready to celebrate the New Year with more Buffalo friends.
The Woodrows brought their boat over on the 30th and we headed over to Dixie Fish for their smoked wings, which are delicious! Next up was New Year's Eve where we hosted a small happy hour with Kleins and Hakes then headed to Sunset Grill for dinner where 14 of us dined. Some of the group elected to head back to their homes for the strike of midnight but the Hakes and us headed to Tarpon Point to watch the fireworks at Ulrich's 8th floor condo. It was great...the Cape Coral fireworks were right in the bay by their condo and we could also see the fireworks from Ft. Myers Beach in the distance.
Boat rides, pool time, beach time, fishing and dinners out has had us busy and enjoying the above average temperatures here in Ft. Myers Beach. It was reported on the news that this area had the warmest temperatures in the country on New Year's Day, 10 degrees above average has had the high temps in the 84-88 degree range.

Of course I had to start out with this one, even though I’ve got a lot of catching up to do! I’m so glad we were able to spend more time together in Ft Myers Beach this year - what a fabulous weather week, and so much fun! Love all of the photos! Hope you’re enjoying another beautiful night in Marco - have a great ride over to the keys!
