We took the train and Staten Island Ferry into the city, then the subway to Grand Central Station. On our way home we opted for the express bus, which picked us up just a short walk from where we ate dinner with Allison and dropped us off a few blocks from the yacht club. Thank goodness for public transportation, I would never want to drive in NYC and Wednesday night when we were coming back part of Broadway was closed for a fire and the traffic was horrendous!
The attractions we visited included Wall St., Grand Central Station, The Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Times Square, Bryant Park, Madison Square Park, 230 5th Avenue (which is a beautiful rooftop bar) ... which equated to approximately 9 miles of walking.
Gold loopers Clark and Evelyn from Sunset Delight (formerly CMoss) drove from their home in NJ to Staten Island for dinner with us and fellow loopers Way 2 Much Thursday evening. We first met Clark and Evelyn in Canada the summer of '15, then met up again in Marathon this past winter and a few marinas on the east coast as they brought their new boat Sunset Delight home. It was great to see them and catch up!
We were off to Jersey City Friday night for a wine tasting and appetizer get together at Dana and Adam's with some of Allison's friends. Wow, what a spread they put on, can these guys and girls cook! The food they made was amazing...I need to bring them along to our docktails! We had pork cordon bleu, pizza with goat cheese and caramelized onions, veggie bars, chocolate covered strawberries infused with moscato, decadent chocolate cake...just to name a few. It was a fun night!
Allison always likes a boat ride and we originally scheduled that for Saturday but instead we had rain and wind. Sunday was a much better day with 90 degree temps and light winds which made for a delightful ride with Allison and Eric in Raritan Bay.
