The #2 attraction when you come to Banff is Johnston Canyon, where you hike to an upper and lower falls. Normally we would leave very early but there was rain overnight Saturday and we weren’t sure we were going to go there Sunday morning. By the time we made up our minds it was a little later than we would have liked but it all worked out and despite the crowds we got a great parking spot and good workout. Plus, it was a little warmer, the mornings are about 30 degrees and the days have varied with highs near 80 and others near 60. They do a great job with the trails, so many of them are paved and have high railings, which suits me just fine! We have been averaging over 15k steps since coming here.

Next stop was Johnson Lake. We walked the path
around. We saw one loon in the middle of the lake
but he was too far away to get the picture.

Monday we went to Cascade Gardens.
I was finally able to get a picture of a magpie.
Their tails are so long and some of their
feathers are very blue.
Mark spotted this coyote making
his way across the road towards the campground.
We saw elk the first day but unfortunately
we did not get any pictures.
