There's no place like home

As Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz says, "there's no place like home" and right now our home is wherever the anchor drops. But for the holidays, home is definitely our "dirt house" and we were happy to be back in Buffalo to celebrate the holidays with our family and friends. Our laid-back looper persona was traded for the hustle and bustle of getting ready for Christmas. From the moment we got off the plane I could feel Christmas in the air, snow on the ground, decorations everywhere...
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
          Everywhere you go
Mark and I are very fortunate to have friends from our childhood that we are very close to and were able to take time out of their busy schedules to meet up with us. Thanks again to John and Alayne for hosting the Christmas get together...so full of fun and laughter. Our traditional Christmas Eve with our kids and my sister Maureen, Christmas day with Mark's sister and family.

Wednesday we flew back to Florida and NOW its time for vacation! Vacation you say, aren't you already on vacation? That's a question we get all of the time and our answer is always "no, we are not on vacation." Looping is a lifestyle, we try to live like we would live if we were home. There are chores and maintenance and times we sit around watching TV, we try to limit dinners out to 2 times a week. We are retired so of course we don't have the stresses of a job but we feel we live like any retired couple. Some have summer homes, winter homes, RV's...we just happen to live on a boat. Vacation is different...we have a bunch of friends that are arriving in Ft. Myers today and for the next week we will be eating out, spending time at the beach, in the pool and enjoying each others company. We are looking forward to ringing in the New Year on Ft. Myers beach.
So it's time to get all our work done and get ready for vacation!
